Some people wonder, why wear Christian clothing? Chelsea Eubank of designer Christian clothing label, Faithful Fish has come up with a new “Wear Your Faith Wednesday” campaign to encourage Christians to show their faith even by what they wear.

Join the campaign to wear your favorite “faithful” shirt on the first Wednesday of each month. On the campaign website, Chelsea explains why she thinks it’s important to wear your faith.”Think about it – our generation uses our clothing as media more than any other generation before us. I’ve even heard us called “generation T” because we wear so many t-shirts. Most of our t-shirts send a message about who we are, what we like and what we participate in. So why not show your commitment to your faith in the same manner.”

She notes that the press spends a lot of their time focusing on the negative and that as Christians, we can choose to show the fruit of God’s spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self control. (Gal. 2:20)

“Wear It Wednesday” is Chelsea’s vision to create a day where everyone can wear their favorite faithful shirt (Christian band, FCA, youth group, etc) the first Wednesday of each month! She chose Wednesday because it is the perfect day for teens to invite their friends to church and show them why they are so happy in their faith. She sees the “Wear It Wednesday Campaign” as a way to allow the young and faithful to show the nation that we are a community who is both excited and proud about the future of our faith.

Chelsea’s initial goal is to have 500,000 students wearing their faith on the first Wednesday of every month. Christian Clothing Designer – New Book

Christian clothing not only provides a product for a niche market in the world, it also provided Chelsea Eubank with a path to making a positive impact on society. Chelsea is highlighted in a new book, The Richest Kids in America, by Chicken Soup for the Soul co-founder, Mark Victor Hansen. He uses a broad definition of the word “rich” in his book, in which, Chelsea is featured as a youth who is rich in “spirit” and “faith.”

Chelsea Eubank has overcome a lot in her twenty-one years. She grew up with a learning disability and currently attends a LD college in Florida. When Chelsea was 17, she lost five members of her family-her uncle, both of her grandmothers, her grandfather and even her father-all within a two-year period of time. She faced a crossroads – one path would bring her success and the other many heartaches and failures.

Chelsea chose to be positive and started her own Christian clothing company. Creativity and a love of clothing allowed her to find a niche in the Christian clothing market. Declaring Truth Using Christian Clothing

Sometimes it is not so easy to strike up a conversation with someone about our faith.  You, like me, may not be the street-corner evangelist on a soap box preaching to the masses.  I am usually the one who quickly hands a gospel tract to the attendant at the drive through fast food window. There is still hope for us.

When God spoke into my heart the message of Seize Eternity, He whispered…”put it on a Christian t shirt.”  See people in our culture today look at what others wear. It is a fact. Declaring the truth and responding to the inquiries others will make when you are wearing the truth is an honor. Since we started Seize Eternity Christian Clothing, I get excited just thinking of the people that will ask me to take a closer look at what I’m wearing or who might inquire about the meaning behind it. Even Christians. We can become sluggish and carnal in our walk, and so this message is for both believers and unbelievers alike.

There are no new ideas under the sun and I surely will not take credit for this marvelous truth. But I am absolutely going to take the opportunity to declare it…using Christian clothing.

Using Christian T-Shirts to Reach the Culture

We live in a culture in which slogans and sayings appear all around us. And T-shirts are probably one of the biggest marketing tools ever invented. There’s no reason Christians shouldn’t be part of this marketing trend with Christian T-Shirts.

After all, we’re in the marketing business. Christ followers are commanded by Jesus to take the message of the Gospel to the whole world. Call it what you want… witnessing, evangelizing, sharing your testimony.

It’s all marketing.

We have a message the world desperately needs to hear and thanks to a culture in which T-Shirts are everywhere and carry all sorts of messages, we have an opportunity for lifestyle evangelism. The diversity of T-Shirts imprinted with Christian messages is astounding. So is the creativity. Bold colors, trendy designs and stylish looks are as easy to find as a visit to the local Christian store or online Christian shopping site.

Remember Paul’s visit to Athens as described in the Book of Acts? He was culturally in tune with his audience. He was not of their world but he was in it and he used references to the cultural styles of their day to bring home the message of Jesus Christ and salvation.  It is the same with us.

There are surveys out there that claim that the average Christian T-Shirt is read by 3,000 people during its lifetime of wear. That’s pretty astounding. Most of us don’t get a chance to share the Good News with that many people in a lifetime, unless we’re a pastor or church professional.

All of us who follow Jesus, though, are to be his messengers. Wearing Christian T-Shirts lets us do so in one of the most amazingly effective ways imaginable as we make our way through the Athens of our world.
